Privacy Policy

Taqwo ("the App") is an Islamic prayer companion app that provides prayer times, qibla direction, dhikr tools, and prayer tracking. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used. We built Taqwo to work with as little personal data as possible.

1. Information We Collect

‍Location. The App uses your device location solely to calculate accurate prayer times and qibla direction for your area. Location is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with anyone. You may deny location access and enter your city manually instead.

‍Account information (optional). Taqwo works fully without an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address (which may be a private relay address if you use Apple's "Hide My Email"). This is used only to identify your account and sync your data.

‍Synced app data (signed-in users only). If you sign in, the following data is stored on our servers so it can sync across your devices: dhikr counts, prayer tracker history, app settings, and your subscription status. If you use the App as a guest, this data is stored only on your device.

‍Purchase information. Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to validate purchases and manage subscription status. We never see or store your payment details.

2. What We Do NOT CollectWe do not collect or share your location with any server or third party.We do not show ads and do not use advertising trackers.We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.We do not collect analytics that identify you personally.

3. How We Use InformationWe use the information described above only to: provide prayer times and qibla direction, send the prayer notifications and reminders you enable, sync your data across devices when signed in, manage your subscription, and provide customer support when you contact us.

4. NotificationsPrayer reminders, alarms, and daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. You control them entirely in the App's settings and your device settings, and they are optional.

5. Data Retention and DeletionGuest data lives only on your device and is removed when you delete the App. For signed-in users, synced data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all synced data at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account inside the App. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

6. Third-Party ServicesThe App relies on the following service providers, strictly to operate its features: Apple (sign-in, notifications, payments), RevenueCat (subscription validation), and our backend hosting provider (encrypted storage of synced data for signed-in users). Each processes only the minimum data needed for its function.

7. Children's PrivacyTaqwo is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App can be used fully without providing any personal information.8. SecuritySynced data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access restricted to your authenticated account.9. Changes to This PolicyIf we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.10.
